About Me
- Name: Dunia's Stranger
- Location: United States
"It goes a long way back, some twenty years. All my life I had been looking for something, and everywhere I turned someone tried to tell me what it was. I accepted their answers too, though they were often in contradiction and even self-contradictory. I was naive. I was looking for myself and asking everyone except myself questions which I, and only I, could answer. It took me a long time and much painful boomeranging of my expectations to achieve a realization everyone else appears to have been born with: That I am nobody but myself."

i've often wondered how babies think before they have language...do they think in shapes or colours? Everything is tied to language including our understanding of Islam!
Language is a divine gift from Allah . In our age, language has strayed far from its sacred beginnings. So now we have modern secular languages, for our modern secular thoughts.
Divine revelation is transmitted in sacred language. This is why the Qur'an cannot truly be translated; nor can prayer.
And yes, I believe it's (b). Language control = thought control. That's why it's so important to choose your words with care -- to make sure they're YOUR words, and not the phrases you've been programmed to use.

Subhan Allah, this is why when Allah swt allows you to be close to Him through the Qu'ran it is an 'experience' rather than a literal understanding. Sacred language is transforming.
